This structure ensures a balanced session covering warm-up, practice, improvisation, theory, and performance.
🎤 Warm-up & Tuning (6 Minutes)
1. Om Practice: (2 min) Focus on deep breathing and sustained, clear intonation of "Om."
2. Sa Practice: (2 min) Practice the anchor note Sa using the Tanpura set to Scale A to establish absolute pitch.
3. Lower Octave Swaras: (2 min) Work on expanding vocal range by practicing the notes in the Mandra Saptak (lower octave).
🎶 Core Practice & Agility (7 Minutes)
1. Alankar Practice: (5 min) Execute various set exercises or patterns to improve voice control, speed, and dexterity.
2. Upaj Practice: (2 min) A short, free-form improvisation exercise. (Volunteer Spot)
🧠 Raga & Theory Focus (12 Minutes)
1. Raga Deep Dive: (10 min) Dedicate time to one Raga. This involves understanding its Swaras (notes), listening to a brief initial Alaap (slow unfolding), and practicing the Bandish (composition).
2. Short Music Theory Topic: (2 min) A quick explanation of a core concept like Taal (rhythm cycle), Shruti (microtones), or Raga Classification.
🌟 Performance & Wrap-up (5 Minutes)
1. Performance Slot: (5 min) A short, voluntary performance opportunity for any club member (vocal or instrumental). (Volunteer Spot)
